IAASB Chairman Prof. Arnold Schilder was a featured speaker during CAPA Seoul 2015 October 27-29, 2015.
The event included informative and in-depth discussions of current accounting and auditing developments under the theme "Asian Accountants—Leading the way, inspiring the future."
During CAPA Seoul 2015, he presented "Confidence in Financial Reporting—Are the Public and Investors Receiving the Right Information and Can They Rely on It?” reviewing new and revised auditor reporting standards and the IAASB's efforts to enhance audit quality.
In a separate presentation, "New Standards in Auditing—Applying High-Quality Standards," Prof. Schilder discussed global adoption of Clarified International Standards on Auditing (ISA), auditor reporting and key audit matters, and the proportionality of ISA for small- and medium-sized practices.

The most recent IESBA meeting was held in September in New York. Meeting highlights include updates on the Structure of the Code, Safeguards, and Part C of the Code projects.
Following the global financial crisis, the IESBA worked to enhance responsiveness to emerging issues amidst heightened scrutiny on ethics, while delivering on its existing strategic commitments.
The IESBA has continued to pursue an active outreach agenda in 2015 pursuant to its strategic commitment to engage with its broad range of stakeholders, including a semi-annual meeting with the IESBA Consultative Advisory Group to exchange views on current projects, and emerging issues.
