Greg Walters

Greg Walters joined the technical staff of the International Ethics and Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) in March 2026. He provides assistance to the Technology Working Group and other technology-focused teams in IESBA with drafts of memoranda and other guidance and assists with standards of conduct implementation projects.
Prior to joining IESBA, Mr. Walters’ career included over 30 years of public service as an attorney focusing on regulatory law and ethics for several United States Federal agencies, where he often led ethics programs and helped enforce standards of conduct. Most recently, he was a Senior Counsel for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, where he helped with technology law compliance. His received an award from the United States Office of Government Ethics for outstanding ethics training. He also is a frequently requested speaker on technology topics including artificial intelligence and technology risk management. He speaks at annual events for organizations such the Society of Corporate Governance and Ethics, the Ethics & Compliance Initiative, and Compliance Week.
Mr. Walters is a graduate of the University of Chicago in Economics and holds degrees in law and from the California Western School of Law (J.D.) and Georgetown University School of Law (LL.M. Taxation). He also teaches a class on emerging technologies and ethics at the Fordham School of Law in New York City. He is an active member of the New York State Bar.
