Tax Planning and Related Services Roll-Out

The IESBA’s Rollout initiative is intended to promote awareness and support the adoption and effective implementation of the changes to the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (including International Independence Standards) (“the Code”) arising from the IESBA’s Tax Planning and Related Services Project. The Working Group will release materials that facilitate this initiative, such as but not limited to publications which encompass comprehensive responses to frequently asked questions.

IESBA June 2024 Meeting Highlights 

The IESBA considered a brief update on the outreach activities conducted by its Tax Planning and Related Services Rollout Working Group since the launch of the final pronouncement in mid-April 2024, following the PIOB’s certification of the pronouncement. The IESBA noted that the outreach initiatives have been comprehensive, including two global webinars, several in-person presentations in Canada, Japan and Australia, and top-tier media interviews.

As part of the rollout initiatives, the IESBA will receive an update on the IESBA Staff Q&As on the final pronouncement in due course.
